The Rotex is popular because of its versatility. It is aggressive and it is good for fine sanding. But what people really like is its Jetstream principle dust extraction. Under the patented system, the sanding pad has a hole in the center that supplies air to sweep dust outward toward pickup holes at the perimeter of the pad.

What makes Festool jigsaws better than cheaper models? First off, the saw blade does not twist because the jigsaw has a stroke rod made of hardened flat steel that runs in a sintered bronze bed. Secondly, to prevent sway out during tight radius cuts, the Trion PS300 EQ and trion PSB 300 EQ are equipped with carbide tipped guides that hold the blade firmly as close to the surface of the material as possible. Finally, to prevent splintering, our jigsaws come with a splinter guard that is mounted on to the saw and pressed into the running blade. Because of the pressure of the guard on the workpiece, the edges cannot tear out. The jigsaws, like all Festool tools, are dust extractable too!
What is Brilliant, what is Rubin etc? Rubin is for wooden materials. Brilliant is for paint and varnishes. Titan is for filler and paints on car repairs. vlies is for light sanding, roughening, degreasing and matting. Saphir is for heavy-duty use under particularly tough conditions. Platin is for finishing polymer materials, high-gloss paints and plastics.
